Is that the sun?

Is that really the sun I see out there? Its been so nasty I forgot what it looked like! We didnt get as bad of storms and such they were calling so I am glad for that. Tomorrow marks my 24th week of pregnancy. So far so good…I have felt good and am sleeping better than I was. My belly feels really hard which is a cool feeling. Elijah is kicking a lot now I notice it more latley that he kicks more. He is probably so bored in there!! Since getting the nursery done I feel a sense of calmness I guess. I didnt want to wait until the last second do to all of this so later on I wont be worried about it. We start our birth classes on September 10th. I am looking forward to that. We get to tour the hospital and its also a newborn prep class too. If they make us a change a diaper on a baby doll or something that will be funny.

Well, the nursery is complete. All we need now is the furniture and a baby! It looks so good. It couldnt be any better. Phil did a great job. We also installed a new airplane light which just goes great with the theme. We have the pictures posted up so check it out!

Mace Hides His Destruction

The other night, Sara calls from the bedroom with “Cameron! Come look at this!” She is pointing under the bed, so I kneel down and take a look. There is fuzz and shredded paper ALL OVER!

A while back, he had started to get a habit of grabbing paper out of the waste basket in the bathroom and tearing it all over the floor. We would get onto him and he would do his cowering I’m sorry act. Looks like he outsmarted us and took it under the bed where we wouldn’t find it. You could tell he knew we had found the stash because he was peeking around the door watching us.

Dogs show their intelligence every so often…

Nursery Stage 1 complete

Well, we got the first and major part of the nursery completed this weekend! Cam did most of the work which I am grateful for. That room is very small so it was almost impossible for 2 people to paint at the same time anyway, but he did a great job. We saw this nursery idea at Home Depot in the Disney paint section. (we arent partial to Disney stuff or anything ) It was from the Pooh collection. We wanted a sky blue and then paint clouds around the room. They had the sky blue and cloud design idea at Home Depot so we took the pamplet and went with it. The clouds look great, but at first I was thinking that they didnt look like the pamplet at all!! Ours had that spongy look to it and theres looked like real clouds no sponginess. When it dried though it looked really cute. We took pictures of it and they are posted up now. Next step is going to be the most exciting! Cam’s dad is coming up to paint a mural on the wall of an airplane flying over fields and then in sky writing behind the plane will be “Elijah” The scene will be above the crib. It will look so good! Cam’s dad is very talented with art and I am glad he will be a part of the baby stuff. Elijah is going to have such wonderful Granparents around him. Me and Cam both were lucky to have grown up around wonderful Grandparents and we have great memories of that so we want the same for Elijah.

New Job

Well, it looks like my time as a Network Engineer might be changing. There is a position opening up in the ECS (Engine Test Facility Control Systems) department. I have been tasked to perform the duties of this position, along with my current work, until they are able to hire someone to take it full time. I have the option of applying for this position, and since I will have been doing the work already, I should be the right choice.

I would be a big promotion for me, and a way to get back into Digital Electronics/Controls Engineering work. Wish me luck!

Baby kicks

Yesterday was my regular check up appointment and I got to meet a new Dr. There are several Drs in the group I go to and you rotate and see each one of them during your pregnancy so when you actually deliver the Dr on call wont be a complete stranger. So I met Dr Moss yesterday she was really nice and she told me she would be the Dr. on call the week of Christmas so she might be the one to deliver Elijah. She said my ultrasound results were normal and Elijah was measuring 19′2 which was right on track. Then she did the heartbeat and whith her scope she felt around my belly for the heartbeat and Eli was kicking and he knocked her scope away from the spot she was on! She said “he just kicked me!” :) Maybe we have a soccer player on our hands!

I dont talk about work much just because when I get home I am home and I dont want to think about work. Well, I do have to mention today. Just when you think you have seen or heard it all you havnt. People are just dumb. I get a call and a lady asks what she can do to stop a cavity from spreading. She continues saying that her husband just has horrible decay problems that spread rapidly and they have spread to her. Oh my Gosh…are you for real? I mean do you actually think a cavity jumps from one mouth to another?! HAHA It was a good laugh at least

It is time to put Mace’s favorite stuffed animal to rest. The poor thing had already had its hair ripped off of him in patches, but he finally made it down to the actual stuffing. That is when we had to let him go. It was a good toy…a little mangy but noiseless.

Forgetfullness

Someone asked me the other day if forgetfullness has set in with this pregnancy yet. I said “nope” not me. HAHA Well, there is today. We went to Cleveland Friday night through today to visit the fam and celebrate birthdays. Before coming home this morning we visited Cam’s granny and stayed and visited for an hour or so and then made our way back to Manchester. Well, we get off the Manchester exit and I notice my purse isnt in the car. Yep, I had left it at Grannys! AHH…and I have to have my purse. For one my wallet that has my lisence and cant cash any checks with that and also my Dr. visit is tommorow and they always ask for my insurance card which is also in my wallet. So, we drove back to Chattanooga and met Cam’s Mom to get the purse. How frustrating. Anyway, I am 21 weeks along now and Elijah is moving all around in there. Cam finally got to feel him kicking pretty good last night. I decided to go ahead and start wearing maternity stuff. Im at that awkward stage where some of my regular clothes are fitting, but they are getting tight. So I wore my first full maternity outfit today. Not too bad actually. Better than when my Mom was pregnant. Those clothes looked pretty sad!

End of WoW!

Much to Sara’s liking, I have decided to quit playing World of Warcraft. I logged 8 days 12 hours of online time, and successfully brought an Orc Hunter to level 50.

Why did I quit? Most of my friends had already left the game, and it was beginning to take 2 hours or more to get anything done at 50+. It wasn’t getting boring though, WoW does a great job of always giving you something to do. The quest system makes you feel like you are really helping the world out, and in general it is easy to find other people on the same quests as you. I just didn’t have the time it was going to take for the new quests.

Till the next great MMORPG!

Great Pregnancy

I just wanted to write about how great this pregnancy has been for me. I have had the best time sharing all my news and excitment with everyone. A special mention to the girls I work with. They are all just great. They are constantly giving me stuff or asking how I am feeling or just being there for me. Its been great having them there through this. My neighbor has loaded me up on maternity shirts and my Mom’s friend has also given me bags full of maternity clothes. It just shows me how I need to be there for my friends when they are going through a life changing event or just being there in general how nice it is to have someone. When I leave in November it will be a pretty hard thing for me because when I first moved here I had noone. No family, no friends, nothing. Then coming to work I met all these great people and I hope I can continue to have that friendship with them because I will miss them alot! I better get asked to Mexican at least every other week! As long as they dont mind a baby coming along too :O)
