Landscaping done

Well, we have put it off for months and we finally decided to just do it. Our poor front yard was in BAD shape. The area where our bushes were was basically a weed garden. When we bought the house we knew that they had done a crappy job because there was no weed gaurd or anything under the bushes. So grass and weeds just made there home there and it looked awful. There was really no point in using weed be gone or even pull the weeds because within a day it was right back to where it was. We also had 2 or 3 bushes die on us :( So, when Jon and Tessa bought there house they redid some of there landscaping and had 60 edging stones left over and gave them to us! We just had to buy the mulch. We ended up not having to buy anymore bushes because when we spread them out it worked out fine. I am saying “we” and you think it was me and Cam who did all this, but REALLY it was Cams Dad and him. They worked really hard for a day and 1/2 and got it all done! Also, thanks to Dr. Dean letting us use his tiller that made things SOOO much easier. I am posting pics from before and after to see the difference. We also planted two trees in the front. Now our house isnt the ugly one anymore!! YAY!

Busy weekend

We had another great weekend. They just go by soo fast. ::frown:: Friday after the hearing test we went back home and cleaned the house. It hadnt had a good cleaning in a while. Its a good thing my Grandma doesnt have internet to read that! She is such a clean fanatic. I just have to tell this about her. Basically I have never seen her house dirty, or dishes in the sink, or dust on the furniture. Her house has always been clean and always will be. And everyone that knows her knows that about her. Recently she had to have pretty extensive surgery and the Dr. told her she would have to rest and be careful for about 3 months. 2 of her friends decided instead of cooking for her or something like that they went in together and bought her a maid for a day. Well, before the maid came my Grandma wanted to test her cleaning skills and so she PURPOUSLY left streaks on the mirrors to see if she would clean them off. HAHAHAH I asked her if she passed her test and she said yea she did! So I told her that since her birthday was coming up that I might have to just pay for that maid to come back as a present. She quickly said “Well, by then (August is her birthday) I will be able to do all those things myself!!” I said “Grandma, most people that were offered a maid for a day would GLADLY except that as a present, but you decline because you want to do it yourself” Are you insane?!?! HAHA I just had to laugh.

Some of our friends from Cleveland came up to see us on Saturday. They hadnt seen Elijah yet. It was really good to see them and alot of fun. The next 3 weekends are already full of things to do. Next week Elijah will be 7 months old! I cant get over how fast he is growing. All week long I wake up to him in the monitor going “MA MA MA MA MA MA”. I told Cam we were saying that to him for weeks to try to get him to say it and now that is all he says! hahah Its so sweet though.

NEW PICS ADDED!

6 month check up

Well, Elijah’s check up went well. He is now 16 lbs 8 ounces which is 3 more pounds than he was last check up. He is 26 inches long. His umbilical hernia is all cleared up YAY! They checked his hip joint which always freaks me out and it felt solid YAY! The only concern is that he will have to go to a hearing specialist for another hearing check. When he was a newborn at the hospital is right ear failed the test and his Dr. said we would check it again at 6 months so we are going to check it. He didnt see any trauma in his ear drums or anything and we know he can hear so we just pray that it was just a fluke with the first test and everything will be fine. The funny thing about the visit was that when we got to the Dr. we were out in the waiting room and he was just talking and laughing and jumpin and then his nurse calls him back and as soon as he saw her he just starts crying. Then when we get back in the room he is fine bc she leaves…she then comes back after the Dr. does the exam to give him the shot and as soon as he sees her again he starts crying again. HAHAH He KNOWS she is the mean one that gives shots. So funny. Pretty soon he will know when we pull in the parking lot! YIKES.

Father’s Day weekend was good. We went to Cleveland to celebrate with everyone and to get Mace. He was still there from when we left on vacation. We were glad to see him and he was sure glad to see us. When we were leaving we were saying our goodbyes to Cams parents and Mace had already jumped in the car ready to go with us. There was a lot of funny things that happened to us, one in particular was when Della, me and Tess were at the drive thru at Hardee’s getting Cam and Phil breakfast. At the Drive thru the girl at the speaker asks “Is this for here or to go?” HAHAHA at the drive thru?!?!?! Then when we get to the window she is just all confused. Lets just say we only ordered 2 biscuits and in our bag we got sausage and gravy biscuit, a side of bacon, a frisco sandwhich, a regular biscuit, and a bacon, egg, and cheese. I bet the person that did order that was a little ticked.

Vacation Over

We had the best time in Florida. The trip down was great. We left about 6 pm Friday night and stopped to eat and feed Elijah then he slept all the way to Valdosta which is where we stopped and slept. The next morning we met the rest of the family and ate breakfast then headed to Florida. When we got there the weather was beautiful and stayed that way the whole week! No rain! The Condo was awesome. Everybody had there own room and the master bedroom had a garden jacuzzi tub and seperate shower. The girls took advantage of the jacuzzi tub :) The first night we decided to just eat somewhere cheaper so we went for BBQ at Sonny’s. Not good. The food was nasty…tasted a lot like dog food..or should I say what I think dog food would taste like. The waitress was good about checking on us, but she was an emotional wreck. I guess from that chemical burn she got from something…that is what she told us no joke. The next day we packed up the 4 runner with all the beach stuff and drove down to the beach. If you didnt ride to the beach you walked down the path from the condo. It was a long treck down there that was the only bad thing about the condo. Elijah loved the beach and sand. He wanted to play in the sand alot. He liked the ocean too he would watch the wave go by him if we stuck his feet in. The condo had a crib in it and it took him a couple days to get used to sleeping in it so he slept with Cam and I alot. While we were at the beach one day Cam’s Mom noticed a voice she recognized and it just happened to be Cam and Tessa’s pediatrician from when they were little. He retired in Cleveland and owns a condo where we stayed and he was there with his family. That was wild..but it was nice to know that a Dr. was close by if something were to happen to Elijah. He told us about a seafood place to try and we went there one night. It was really good. We also went on a carriage ride through the old part of St. Augustine. That was really fun.

On Tuesday Cam and I slipped away and headed to Disney. We got there and was only going to get one day tickets to Animal Kingdom and ride the new ride there, but when we got there we just couldnt help it we gave in and got 1 day park hopper tickets so we could go to the other parks. After we rode the new ride at Animal Kingdom (which is REALLY REALLY COOL) we went to Epcot and they were having the flower and garden fesitval. If you see our pictures you will notice the charachters are all made out of bushes and flowers. It is really something to see! That is when we pretty much decided to stay the night there so we could just take our time with the park hopper tickets and then sleep in a little the next morning. The grandparents didnt mind keeping Elijah for us. The only park we didnt go to was MGM. We just didnt have the time to make it to that park, but we got to pretty much do everything we wanted.

Friday night was our last night and we went to Caddyshack restaraunt owned by Bill Murray and his brothers. It was SOOO GOOD and the location of the place was awesome. It was in this golf complex where they have the PGA acadamy and all kinds of golf stuff. Overall we had a fabulous time just being lazy and being together. I think we all came back a little sugar high. The last night we were discussing how much food/drinks we had consumed and we went a bit crazy. But hey its vacation!! Here is the list:

3 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts ( 2 dozen were eaten within 24 hours)
3 super boxed size of Little Debbies
1/2 can of peanuts
6 bags of chips
9 cases of coke

And there is much more but that was the stuff that went pretty fast.

Elijah was really the best baby on this trip. He traveled GREAT and he was in a good mood the whole week. He did a couple new things while we were there. His Nana put him on a beach towel just sitting up and several minutes went by and we were thinking “wow that is a long time for him to sit up”. And he kept sitting up all week and back home for a long time. He cant sit up if he is laying on a blanket on his back you have to put him in the sitting position but he stays like that for a long time. He also has shown us that he can say DaDa really good. We heard that alot last week. Thursday is his 6 month check up and I am curious to see how much he weighs and how long he is.

Sweet Thing

I just had a really sweet moment with Elijah. He was REALLY sleepy and we put him in bed and we heard him mumbling himself to sleep and then we didnt hear him so I figured he was asleep. So I walked in to check on him and his eyes were not yet closed but close and he looked at me and gave me a smile then immediatley closed his eyes to sleep. Ohh it just lifts my soul to have moments like that! Having a baby is the best thing I have ever done!!
