So much going on

It has been a pretty busy week and I havnt really had a chance to get on here and blog like I want to.  We normally keep our laptop in the living room on at all times, but since Elijah is ALL over the house and grabbing everything so I put it up and when I go in the office to get on the computer I cant really get anything done because he wants to go under the desk and grab at the many wires under there or if he sits on my lap he tries to type too.  Our diets are still going good.  I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks and Cam has lost about 10.  I think we both have lost quite a bit in inches, but we havnt measured, but we can tell in our clothes.  I have one pair of jeans that I keep trying on to see if they will fit.  Its a pair that I could wear before I got pregnant and they were my favorite!  So once I get those on I will REALLY be happy.

I took Cam today to get his lasik done!!  Everything went great and he can already see wonderfully!  The process was pretty easy.  They just did some testing on his eyes and then the consult and if he was a candidate and wanted to do the procedure today they would do it for him!  The actualy procedure only took 10 minutes or so.  He has to wear these goggles all day today and tonight and then only at night for the rest of the week.  I am so glad he did it now because they told him that he was really far sighted and that he was almost too far sighted to have the procedure.  They also told him that bc of that he might have to wear reading glasses when he gets about 40 or so which isnt that bad.  Tommorow I am going to take a picture of him without the glasses/goggles!  Its been 8 years with the glasses and we had dated about 6 months before he had them so seeing him without them will be so strange!

Elijah is into just about everything!  He loves getting into the dog food bowl!   He did get some in his mouth and Cam said “if it hasnt killed Mace then Im sure it wont hurt him”.  He is doing SO much better with his sleep too.  I have decided what I am going to do for his 1st Birthday party.  We are doing a Cookie Monster theme.  He LOVES Cookie Monster.  When Sesame Street is on he will watch some of the other charachters, but when Cookie comes on he just stops and smiles and stares at him and then when he goes off he goes back to playing.  Its so cute.  I bought him a cookie monster T shirt to wear at the party and then his cake that he will dig into will be a cake that looks like a cookie!  I am excited.  Only 2 months away!!!!  How crazy is that!!!

Disney Blogs

I usually spend my mornings catching up on everything Disney. Here is a list of blogs I currently read:

2719 Hyperion - http://2719hyperion.blogspot.com/

2719 Hyperion is a new blog created talking mostly about Disney World in Orlando, FL and classic Disney TV/Movies.

EPCOT Central - http://epcot82.blogspot.com/

EPCOT Central is a look at what has changed over the years at EPCOT. Sometimes it feels like a lot of complaining, but the author does make some really good points. I too wish the classic EPCOT attractions would return and that the WAND would disappear.

Luxo - http://pixaranimation.blogspot.com/

Luxo is a blog 100% about Pixar Animation. They have very interesting stories about the people that work on the movies, and information on other Pixar related items.

Re-Imagineering - http://imagineerebirth.blogspot.com/

Similar to EPCOT Central, this is a blog with authors who would like Disney to be like it used to be. Not so much that they need to bring back every classic attraction, but that Disney has lost the “magic” in some of the newer additions. Disney has always been about detail! Enough detail to make you believe you have been transported into a fairy tale, a jungle, the wild west, the future, or a Haunted Mansion.

The Disney Blog - http://www.thedisneyblog.com/

Last but most certainly not least, The Disney Blog is a GREAT source of general Disney news.

Good thing we have DVR

So its fall TV time which means all new shows which also means we need to get our recorder ready.  We have DVR which is just like tivo.  Thank goodness we do because this season there are a few shows that come on at the same time.  Thursdays are just crazy.  We watch My name is Earl, The office, Smallville, Survivor, and now Grey’s Anatomy comes on Thursday nights.  WOW.  We watched My name is Earl and the Office, but taped the others.  Of course there isnt anything on Friday nights so we will watch it then I guess.

Fall yay!

I LOVE fall!  I love the leaves turning, the decorations, the colors, Halloween..everything!  Today was a beautiful day so beautiful infact that I went for a walk twice!  Elijah loves to go for walks and see everything around the neighborhood.  He is doing better with his sleep.  The trick is to wear him out!  I kept him busy all day.  After our morning walk we stopped to see William and he played and played.  Jennier read about a home-made “sandbox” without using sand.  You use oatmeal oats and just put a bunch in a kiddie pool and if they eat it its ok!  Plus its not as messy.  He liked putting his hands in it and he loved eating it too.  ha!  And speaking of eating Cam and I are on diets.  Actually Im not going to call it a diet, its more like a change in our lifestyle.  We havnt been the best at eating right and we both have complained this year about how our clothes fit or having no energy and we got sick of it.  Plus I really want to try to cook better as a family so when Elijah is older he will have good eating habits.  That is probably easier said than done, but we are really trying.  We signed up for E-diets.com  I had seen it on tv and looked them up and basically they tell me what to eat and what to buy.  The best part is the portions at dinner time.  IN the past everything we cooked there was SO much left and we would end up eating it or throwing a ton out.  Now we cook small portions with hardly any leftovers and if there are its such a small amount that I dont feel bad for throwing it out.  The meals are actually good too!  Today we had a granola bar, fruit and milk for breakfast.  Lunch was a lean quizine which was mexican and it actually tasted good!  Dinner was broiled porkchops and veggies grilled and it called for it to be in a pita, but we used fajita shells instead.  Our snack was a fruit bar with tea.  So just say a prayer that we can stick to this!

Rascall Flats concert

We had a GREAT time at the concert Thursday night!!  It was a lot of fun and they were awesome performers.  They kept a good mix of those songs going and even played a rock song!  (Hotel California) They ended by singing Rocky Top where the whole place just went crazy and then the last song was Life is Highway a great ending song.  It was alot of fun.  I only saw a few mullets and only heard “Git R Done” once which is surprising.  They had two performers before Rascall and one of them was pretty much horrible.  His songs were just lame.  “Jesus will come back before she does”, and my personal fave “Waiting on 2 pink lines” which of course is about waiting on a pregnancy test and he said the research for the song was in the back of his daddy’s car.  HA!  Cant get much countrier than that folks.

Friday we went to Cam’s lasik consult in Chattanooga and he is a candidate for the procedure, but the place we went was asking WAY to much.  We really had no idea what lasik costs so we wanted to go and atleast see what they say.  The office was really great and we liked everything about it, but the cost!  We did some research and they seem to be the highest around!  So, we are checking out this place in Franklin and are probably going to call next week for a consult.  The place in Franklin already told us there fees which the one in Chattanooga wouldnt tell you over the phone so that should have been my first clue with them.

Saturday we went to Toys R Us and looked for birthday and Christmas present ideas for Elijah.  We ended up making a Christmas/Birthday gift registry there so family members can look at it and get some ideas for gifts :)  Before we left Elijah got his hair cut for the first time!!!!!  It wasnt really long or anything, but it was just getting out of control certain areas were getting really long and some were just standing strait up.  So his Nana gave him a trim and it looks cute!  Of course we saved the hairs for keepsake!

New 9 month pics

We posted some new pics of Elijah at 9 months!  He is definetley an active baby now!  And as you can see in the video we now have a hard time at bedtime.  It has been a very rough week with that.  The hardest thing is that he used to be THE BEST at bedtime. You could put him down awake and walk away and never hear a peep out of him, but thats not the case now.  It was better today during nap time so maybe we are on the right track.

The coffee table seems to be the “toy” of choice for him.  I had to take everything off and find a new place for it.  The coasters are a puzzle and they are all over the house!

Tommorow night is the Rascall Flats concert and we are all excited about it!  My Mom is going to watch Elijah for the night and then Friday morning Cam is going for a consult about getting lasik.  It is something he really wants to do because as his eyes get worse its harder for lasik to fix the problem and harder on his eyes with glasses.  And its just a hassel with glasses.  Just recently he broke them on a weekend and it was hard finding a place to see him and get his glasses fixed.  Plus cleaning them all the time etc.. life will be easier without them so I hope lasik is something that we can do.

Elijah Won’t Go To Bed

Filed under:Elijah, Family, Video — camliner at 7:28 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2006

A continuation of the learning to crawl situation. It seems that Elijah has learned he can pull up in the crib! Now going to sleep isn’t near as fun as crawling around in the crib… so guess which one he would rather do. :) He does finally go to sleep, but it is a challenge to say the least!

9 month check up

Elijah had his 9 month check up with his pediatrician and it went great!  He weighs 19 pounds and is 27 inches long.  When the Dr. came in he said “Woah look at that bird hair”!  hahahaha Poor thing he does have bird hair, but its adorable!  He didnt have shots this time YAY, but they did prick his toe for blood to check anemia.  Other than that it was a good visit.

My eyes are constantly on him now!  With him crawling he is definetley more curious and wants to go.  The days of us just sitting on the floor in one place for a while are over!!

Tonight we kept William and him and Elijah played and played and I thought I would be able to lay them down for a nap around 5 but that wasnt happening so I decided to just let them play there little hearts out and then gave them a bath.  After the bath Cam fed Elijah a bottle and I fed William his and both conked out!  I cant even imagine what twins would be like!!  Actually I know that I would look horrible and my hair would be on top of my head all the time!  My jeans are covered in baby biscuits and  my shirt is nicely coated in carrots and peas.  hahaahha!!

Incredibly busy weekend

Well, we are back to our normal everyday life after a really busy weekend back in Cleveland.  We decided to leave Thursday night to get the weekend started early.  Friday morning we did actually rest some and that night we met Mom and looked at a dining table and chairs her friend was selling.  Our table and chairs came from KMart 4 years ago and is about to fall apart so we were in need of one so we bought this one.  Its really nice and she was only asking $100 for the table, leaf, and 6 chairs!  We got a deal!  On Saturday we helped move Mom to her new apartment!  With everyone helping it didnt take long and her new place is SO NICE!  She moved to the apartments where Tess and Jon lived right after they got married.  After moving Tess and I went to a friend’s baby shower and then we went to Hamilton Place to do a little shopping.  Then for dinner Della cooked for Tess’s birthday and we got to finally see her open her present which we have known about for a LONG time and I have been DYING to tell her.  I was really good though and didnt say a word about it!  The background to the present is that Tessa LOVES Rascall Flats and had been dying to see them in concert but they were nowhere near Tennessee until recently they added 2 shows here.  One in Knoxville and one in Nashville so Phil and Della found out about it and bought tickets to the Knoxville show.  Well, the other part of the present was that Cameron made this CD of Toby Keith in front of Rascall Flats on the cover and it said “Toby Keith sings Rascall Flats greatest hits”.  Well, Tess HATES Toby Keith and when she saw it she was like “NO NO EW!” she thought they had bought her a Toby Keith CD but she didnt see that Rascall Flats was behind him.  Anyway, when she opened the CD it had the tickets and she was FREAKING out!  The best part is we all get to go!!!!!  Cam, me, Jon, Phil, and Della are all going next Thursday!!!

On Sunday we had the Liner family reunion and we had about 50 people!  It was the biggest turnout yet.  It was good to see everyone and Elijah had fun with everyone. We also got a nice surprise from Cameron’s friend Joe and his wife Jamie and son Joey.  They saw that we were outside and stopped so Joey and Elijah could finally meet!  Joey is 6 months old and such a CUTIE!!  He is a big boy too!

On Monday we went to Mom’s and had lunch with my grandparents and Ryan and Beth.  Cam actually got the new table and chairs in the back of our 4 Runner of course nothing else could fit in there including the baby seat so Cam went on home with the table and me and Elijah stayed at Mom’s and she took me to Chattanooga where we met Cam tonight and then we all went home.  So yes, I am pooped!  Tommorow we go to Elijah’s 9 month check up with his pediatrician so we will get to see how much little man has grown since his 6 month check.  I dont think we have shots this time so that will be nice!  I am uploading pictures right now so new pics will be up!!!
